Jaundice syndrome – a condition that occurs as a result of obstruction of bile ducts and mechanical obstacle accompanied by icteric staining of the skin, mucous membranes and sclera due to increased accumulation of bilirubin in the blood serum and other body fluids and tissues. In the event of obstruction of bile ducts, local inflammation develops, which is accompanied by the development of a variety of immune disorders. The aim of our work was to study the characteristics of cytokine regulation in patients with obstructive jaundice syndrome, depending on the origin. The study included 104 patients with benign obstructive jaundice syndrome, benign and malignant tumor genesis and 125 healthy volunteers. The content of IL-2, IL-4, IL-8, TNF-alpha, interferon-gamma in the serum of patients and healthy controls were determined by enzyme immunoassay using a set of reagents production of “Vector-Best”. According to the results of research on a personal computer package MS Excel 2010 spreadsheet database was formed. Statistical analysis was performed using Statistica for Windows 8.0 application packages. Patients with the syndrome of jaundice, regardless of the origins were detected violation cytokine regulation in the form of increasing the content of some pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-2, TNF-α, INF-γ, IL-18) and reducing the amount of anti-inflammatory (IL-4, IL-10), so patients with obstructive jaundice syndrome develops predominantly Th1-mediated immune response.
