The article deals with the developing students’ competence in the monologue speech by means of the multimedia report. The aim and content of teaching monologue speech at the university in the level B1/ B2 are defined. The phases and techniques of working with multimedia report to prepare students producing monologue in French are described. The pedagogical scenario of teaching monologue speech to the first year students with multimedia report is proposed.
