The main social-economiс and political factors which form the definite preconditions and directions, trends and features of the process of the transformation of the social-economiс structure of the population of Ukraine during the transitional period to a market are analyzed in the article. The process of the property stratification, its consequences and the formation of a new social-economiс structure of Ukrainian society is pointed out.
