Tax literacy, which allows individuals to take a more active role in economic and social life, is a multidimensional competence that includes knowledge, skills, and understanding of the tax system. This concept consists of the skills of individuals to read and understand tax-related texts and fulfill their obligations, as well as the competence to effectively meet their tax responsibilities by applying this knowledge in practice. The aim of the study is to develop suggestions from the perspective of tax experts to increase the tax literacy levels of university students. In the study, the interview technique was used as a qualitative method, and data were collected from participants working in various institutions in Çanakkale who are experts in tax literacy. The obtained data were evaluated with summative content analysis. The study revealed that university students' lack of knowledge of tax literacy, their disinterest in tax literacy, and the tax system's complexity deepen these deficiencies. The need to include tax literacy courses in the curriculum and the importance of increasing the impact of tax week were discussed, and it was emphasized that social media and the internet are critical in improving tax literacy, but attention should be paid to the risk of information pollution. Bireylerin ekonomik ve toplumsal yaşamda daha aktif bir rol üstlenmelerine olanak tanıyan vergi okuryazarlığı, vergi sistemine ilişkin bilgi, beceri ve anlayış düzeylerini içeren çok boyutlu bir yetkinliktir. Bu kavram, bireylerin vergiyle ilgili metinleri okuma ve anlama becerilerinin yanı sıra, bu bilgiyi pratikte uygulayarak vergi sorumluluklarını etkin bir şekilde yerine getirme yetkinliğini de içermektedir. Çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin vergi okuryazarlığı düzeylerini artırmak için vergi uzmanlarının bakış açısı doğrultusunda öneriler geliştirmektir. Çalışmada nitel yöntem olarak mülakat tekniği kullanılmış ve vergi okuryazarlığı konusunda uzman olan Çanakkale'deki çeşitli kurumlarda görevli katılımcılardan veriler toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, özetleyici içerik analiziyle değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma, üniversite öğrencilerinin vergi okuryazarlığı konusundaki bilgi eksikliklerini, öğrencilerin vergi okuryazarlığı konusuna ilgisizliğini ve vergi sisteminin karmaşıklığının bilgi eksikliklerini derinleştirdiğini ortaya koymuştur. Vergi okuryazarlığı derslerinin müfredatta yer alması gereği ile vergi haftasının etkisinin artırılmasının önemi tartışılmış, sosyal medya ile internetin vergi okuryazarlığını geliştirmede kritik olduğu ancak bilgi kirliliği riskine dikkat edilmesi gerektiği vurgulanmıştır.
