To maintain National Earthquake Information Center （NEIC）’s prominent position in earthquake monitoring，improve its operations and robustness，streamline services and infrastructure，and keep pace with research and innovation in the field of seismology，the U. S. Geological Survey （USGS） has developed a strategic plan for the next five years （2019—2023） for NEIC. This plan describes the NEIC’s development goals，and outlines the best ways to achieve these goals. Specifically，the plan provides strategic direction to improve the timeliness，accuracy，and effectiveness of NEIC’s seismic products and to meet the changing needs of the objects it serves.
