Objective To investigate the effect of the combination of medical care and healthcare model for the elderly with the characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Methods A total of 102 elderly people who agreed to carry out pension services from January 2023 to January 2024 were selected as the research objects. A medical-nursing combined healthcare model with the characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine during the stay of nursing institution. The Short-Form 36 Health Survey (SF-36) was conducted before and after the implementation. Elderly people’s satisfaction with nursing service was measured by using self-made questionnaire. Results After the implementation of the medical-nursing combined healthcare model with the characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the SF-36 score of the patients was higher than that before the implementation, with a significant difference(P＜0. 05). After the implementation, the satisfaction rate was higher than that before the implementation, with a significant difference (P＜0. 05). Conclusion Under the background of the combination of medical care and health care model with the characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine has achieved good results, which can significantly improve the quality of life of the elderly and promote the satisfaction of health care services for the elderly.
