The article deals with the analysis of regional food security during the crisis period. Global development trends of agriculture as a huge part of national economy which provides world population with food are studied within the research. On focus are biotechnologies i.e. production of GMO and alternative fuel in view of their influence on famine level. The main goal of the article is to define prospective ration situation in the world in 2009-2050 due the analysis of the comparable date; to evaluate possible effect of biotechnology on food security and to make a forecast to the future importance of the Russian Federation for these problems solution.
