The article examines the prevalence, causes and main clinical manifestations of amnestic mild cognitive impairment - a syndrome which in most cases is the first manifestation of the neurodegenerative Alzheimer's disease. Diagnostic approaches and the possibility of differential diagnosis are highlighted.
