On the basis of both recently published and well-known works of Nicehorus Blemmydes (1197–1269), the most prominent Byzantine philosopher and theologian of the 13th century, it is argued that even in the late period of his literary activity, i.e., in the 50-es and 60-es of the century, Blemmydes remained faithful to the traditional principles of Orthodox triadology and took a critical stance towards the Filioque.
